Bear Awareness Day!

You can join the County of Orange and OC Parks for Bear Awareness Day at the OC Zoo on Saturday, May 6 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and enjoy bear-themed activities, special zookeeper talks and more.

Bear Awareness Day at the OC Zoo invites the young and the young at heart to learn about bears while exploring the zoo. Activities include bear crafts for kids, special zookeeper chats about bears and bear-related facts. Bear Awareness Day will also feature a learning station where guests can learn more about bear conservation and research, how to “bear proof” camp sites, and what to do if you encounter a bear.  

Bear Awareness Day is a free event with paid zoo admission and open to children of all ages. Zoo admission is $2 per person (ages 2 and under are free), reservations are not needed. Parking at Irvine Regional Park is $5 per vehicle.
