Art Film Tonight!

December 05, 2011

Tonight’s highly anticipated screening of “The Artist” is the NB Film Fest’s film pick to win the Oscar’s Best Picture. Don’t miss the advance screening at 7 p.m. at the Regency Lido Theatre Newport Beach, followed by a Q&A with actor James Cromwell and actress Penelope Ann Miller. “The Artist,” set in 1927 Hollywood’s silent era, tells the story of silent movie star George Valentin who is unhappily confronting the new world of talking pictures and wonders if he will fade into oblivion. It’s a mix of comedy, romance and melodrama.

The film already garnered a Best Actor Award at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival and recently named Best Picture by the New York Critics Circle. The screening is open to Orange County Film Society members. OCFS memberships are currently available for $99. OCFS members receive exclusive invitations to eight film screenings, plus four tickets to the 2012 Newport Beach Film Festival (April 26-May 3). Non-OCFS members pay $30 per film.

Visit www.OrangeCountyFilmSociety.com for membership and program information.

Regency Lido Theatre is at 3459 Via Lido Drive in Newport Beach.
