9th Annual Napa in Newport Benefitting CureDuchenne
CureDuchenne, in partnership with Vintner Chair Melka Estates, is excited to announce the Ninth Annual Napa in Newport event. It will take place on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at the prestigious Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort in Dana Point.
Napa in Newport is a unique gathering that unites over 45 acclaimed vintners from Napa Valley to showcase their finest wines to Orange County's elite, including business leaders, influencers, entrepreneurs, philanthropists, and wine connoisseurs. The event's primary goal is to raise funds for research into Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a severe and widespread form of muscular dystrophy.
This exceptional event includes a Grand Tasting, vintner-hosted dining tables, an exquisite dinner paired with curated wines, and an extraordinary auction featuring coveted wines, exotic getaways, and once-in-a-lifetime experiences.
Debra Miller, the founder and CEO of CureDuchenne, expressed her pride in offering a remarkable wine experience while contributing to the fight against Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a disease that affects countless individuals, including her own son. She emphasized the critical role that funding plays in advancing transformative treatments and expressed her gratitude to vintners, sponsors, and attendees who support this cause.
Guests will have the privilege of savoring exceptional wines from renowned vintners, with this year's Vintner Chair being Melka Estates. Philippe and Cherie Melka, Co-Proprietors of Melka Estates, produce four distinct brands that reflect their philosophy of soil-driven wines, including Métisse, Mekerra, Majestique, and CJ. Their commitment to quality and family-run production has earned them a sterling reputation.
The event will feature a specially curated menu by Chef Ken Frank, the owner of La Toque Restaurant in Napa, renowned for his modern French cuisine and skillful wine pairings. Diane Kemple, the event chair, expressed her honor in leading this impactful event that touches many lives.
Napa in Newport benefits CureDuchenne, a global leader in Duchenne research, patient care, and innovation. The event has raised over $10.5 million to date, contributing to the $50 million that CureDuchenne has raised for research and the development of programs to support Duchenne-affected families worldwide.
The event's generous sponsors include Porsche, The Caviar Company, Frome Family Foundation, PTC Therapeutics, WHGC P.L.C., Carson Wealth, South Coast Plaza, Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort & Club, Mark Pomerantz, and The Dock Restaurant.
