2013 Opening Night Newport Beach Film Fest

Greer Wylder steps onto the red carpet to get an inside look on Greer's OC TV at the opening night of the 2013 Newport Beach Film Festival at Edwards', Big Newport theater and the premiere of, "Broadway Idiot", featuring the members of Green Day.  The Newport Beach Film Festival runs through May 2, and boasts more than 300 films from 50 countries, nightly special events, Q & A’s with filmmakers, international spotlight events and seminars.

Saturday Night Film Fest Showcase

One of the best nights of the Newport Beach Film Festival will be Saturday Night’s Centerpiece Films and after party at Equinox Fitness Club in Irvine starting at 10 p.m., hosted by Locale Magazine. Prior to the party, it's your chance to choose between four spotlight films.

"I Am I" is a story of a father and daughter reunited through delusion and fantasy. The Triangle in Costa Mesa at 8 p.m.

"Welcome to the Jungle" follows an office sent on a wilderness retreat in an excruciating team building exercise headed up by an unhinged ex Marine where trouble and survival ensues. Lido Theater in Newport Beach at 8 p.m.

"Stuck in Love" with Greg Kinnear and Jennifer Connelly, is a tale of family, love lost and found, and how endings can make new beginnings. The Triangle at 8:30 p.m.

"The Iceman" is a film inspired by actual events, following a notorious contract killer from his early days in the mob until his arrest for the murder of more than 100 men. The Triangle at 8:30 p.m.

At the Saturday Night Centerpiece party at Equinox guests will be treated to entertainment and hors d’oeuvres prepared by award-winning Newport Beach restaurants and hosted bar by Stella Artois and Absolut.

Equinox is at 1980 Main St. in Irvine.

Tickets for Film and Party cost $45; party only cost $30; and film only costs $18.
