Yoga and Hiking Within the Great Outdoors

January 04, 2016

Join Irvine Ranch Conservancy in the New Year for a relaxing combination of hiking and yoga in picturesque Bommer Canyon in Irvine, Wednesday mornings from 9:30 - 11 a.m.

Bommer Canyon is full of Irvine Ranch lore and nature’s wonders and it enchants walkers, hikers and yoga enthusiasts to enjoy the beautiful ancient oaks, sycamore groves and rough rock outcrops.

The free morning yoga classes start with a hike around a 1-mile loop, strolling through the local meadow and finding unity within nature. The hike ends at the yoga mats for a 45 to 60 minute guided yoga class, as the canyon slowly begins to warm for the day.

Yoga in Bommer Canyon takes place each Wednesday morning at 9:30 a.m. in the New Year. And, please join me in a class I’ll be hosting on Wednesday, January 13 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Simply RSVP here.

It’s best to wear comfortable clothes and bring a durable yoga mat to rest on the dirt. An extra cloth or padding is recommended, in addition to two towels for yoga positioning assistance. Some mornings are chilly, so it is recommended to wear layers of clothing that are flexible to move in.

All morning yoga classes at Bommer Canyon are free for all to enjoy and recommended for outdoor and yoga enthusiasts ages 16 and over. Space is limited and registration prior is requested by visiting LetsGoOutside.org.
