Tour of Italy Wine dinner

You can take a culinary tour of Italy paired with wines from five regions of Italy--Lombardy, Sicily, Campania, Piemonte, and Veneto without even leaving the country at Antonello Ristorante at South Coast Plaza Village in Santa Ana on Thursday, August 18 at 6:30 p.m.  

The Tour of Italy Wine Dinner features wines paired with a specially prepared prix-fixe menu. 

When you arrive, you can enjoy a chef's selection of passed hors d'ouevres and small bites with Pinot Nero Bianco (Lombardy). And then, the appetizer--Salumi e Formaggio -- a variety of Italian cold cuts served with grana padano cheese paired with Nero D'Avola Rossa (Sicily).

The next course is pasta--Orecchiete, an ear shaped pasta served with red wine braised Pugliese style sausage, chopped Swiss chard and shaved pecorino romano paired with Aglianico Barrique (Campania). The entrée course is a Filet--medallions of beef tenderloin and porcini mushrooms with a veal reduction paired with Barbaresco (Piemonte). The dessert is a Fresh Berry Tart -- mascarpone filled pastry topped with fresh assorted berries paired with Moscato (Veneto).

 $105 per person, plus tax and gratuity.
