Looking for a new place to eat? Freshii is a healthy casual restaurant that just opened its first Orange County location at The Bluffs shopping center in Newport Beach.

Freshii offers custom-made salads, burritos, wraps, rice bowls, yogurt parfait, or soups perfect for a quick breakfast, lunch or dinner.

At breakfast try a bacon, egg and cheese wrap, a spinach and goat cheese wrap, slow cooked oatmeal, yogurt parfaits and more.

At lunch or dinner choose from a Bangkok burrito (brown rice, grilled chicken, carrots, cucumbers, mushrooms, bean sprouts and warm peanut sauce); vegan wrap (spinach, avocado, carrots, broccoli, cucumbers, sweet corn, chickpeas, sundried tomatoes, extra virgin olive oil and aged balsamic vinegar), or an antioxidant crunch salad (spinach, grilled chicken, blueberries, broccoli, celery, chopped almonds, extra virgin olive oil and aged balsamic vinegar), or a grilled steak salad (romaine, grilled steak, dice tomatoes and cucumbers, mushrooms, blue cheese crumbles and blue cheese dressing.)

Acura Arts!

Richard Marx at Festival of the ArtsOn Saturday night, singer and songwriter Richard Marx will host and sing at the Acura Celebrity Event at the Laguna Beach Festival of Arts. Throughout the summer, Festival of Arts visitors have been buying raffle tickets for a chance to win a brand new Acura ZDX (valued over $50,000), and on Saturday night the lucky winner will be chosen.

The evening starts at 5 p.m. with celebrities walking the red carpet at the Festival of Arts entrance, including Camryn Manheim, Robert David Hall, Greg Grunberg, Vanessa Branch, Marion Ross and many others. At 7 p.m. enjoy a rare performance by Richard Marx; and at 8 p.m. he will pull the winning ticket for the Acura ZDX. Tickets will continue to be sold ($5 for one ticket, $20 for five tickets – you don’t need not be present to win.) Funds raised will go toward the Festival of Arts programming, improvements and renovations.

The Acura Celebrity Event is free with Festival of Arts admission ($7 for adults, $4 for seniors and students). Pageant ticket holders can also attend the event.

On Screen Opera!

OPera on screen at UltraLuxe CinemasUltraLuxe Cinemas at Anaheim GardenWalk is promoting arts in the community with an opera, concert and book club series starting Sunday at 5 p.m. and Monday at 11 a.m. with Opera Giuseppe Verdi’s “La Traviata.”

UltraLuxe is bringing operas in HD from some of the world’s most famous companies, including Opera Australia, in addition to philharmonic concerts and The Book Club with Michael Smerconish and some of the world’s most well-known authors, broadcast from the Bryn Mawr Film Institute. Operas and concerts are priced at $20 for adults, and $18 for children, seniors, students and military. Book Club events will be $10 for adults, and $8 for children, seniors, students and military.

Free Fitness Camp

Fitness Boot CampAttend a free fitness boot camp complete with an obstacle course Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Rancho San Clemente Tennis and Fitness Club. Bring your own workout mat, towel and water and your friends to get a great workout while having fun doing it.

If you’re new to the San Clemente Boot Camp you must arrive by 9:10 a.m. to fill out the forms.
