Tesla’s Supercharger Station in OC

June 02, 2014

Great news for Tesla Model S electric sedan owners, Tesla just expanded its Supercharger network with the opening of a free Supercharger station in San Juan Capistrano. It’s the first one between San Diego and Los Angeles and it’s easy to get to along Interstate 5. Superchargers are perfect for city to city driving, giving Tesla Model S drivers travel for about three hours. Charging time takes about 20 to 30 minutes, about what it takes to charge a cell phone.

The Tesla Supercharger is reported to be more powerful than any charging technology to date, providing up to 120 kilowatts of power and replenishing half a charge in just 20 minutes.  The San Juan Capistrano Supercharger is at 31971 Camino Capistrano (at Union Bank) in San Juan Capistrano.

The award winning Model S is the world’s first premium sedan built from the ground up as an electric vehicle. What makes the luxury performance sedan so special is the proven Tesla powertrain, delivering a rigid body structure, nearly 50/50 weight distribution and a low center of gravity. The Model S has the longest range of any production electric vehicle at 265-miles, and it’s electric motor produces an impressive 443 pound-feet of instant torque, propelling Model S Performance from 0 to 60 in as little as 4.2 seconds.  You can find out more about the incredible Model S Sedan with zero emissions here.
