Spring Garden Art Faire at Sherman Library & Gardens

May 17, 2023

Sherman Library & Gardens is gearing up for an exciting two-day Spring Garden Art Faire on Saturday and Sunday, May 20th and 21st. This event promises to be an incredible experience for the whole family! The faire will feature some of the most talented local artists in the area, showcasing their skills and expertise throughout the stunning gardens.

With ceramicist Agnes Noble, photographer Dennie Hahn, watercolorists Cathy Hull, Jai & Jane Kim, Kay Azuma, Keith Richardson, and Teressa Jackson, oil painter Ursula Olsson, glass artist Lynleigh Love, and quiller Jean Zhang all set to participate, you won’t want to miss this fantastic opportunity to view and purchase some unique, one-of-a-kind art pieces.

But that’s not all! There will also be a community art project where you can see Sherman’s Horticulturist Tim Chadd and Volunteers show you how to adhere natural materials such as leaves, seeds, and bark to a 60" round of the Sherman logo. Every inch of the design will be covered throughout the weekend, so come and be a part of this exciting project!

The Sowers, Sherman’s craftiest volunteers, will have their beloved hand-made Spring items for sale, with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the Library and Gardens. Children can join in on the fun at the craft table and color their own wooden birdhouse to take home. Instructor-led art classes, featuring spring-themed projects, will also take place on both days, so make sure to register on thesherman.org website!

Don't forget to indulge in a sweet treat while you meander through the gardens. For every ice cream treat sold, The Original Frozen Banana, owned by Courtney and Will Alovis, will donate a dollar back to Sherman Library & Gardens.

“The Arts are alive and well at Sherman Library & Gardens! Along with History and Horticulture, the Arts are one of our core values. I hope the public will come out and join us during our two-day Spring Garden Art Faire celebration. It will be fun for the whole family,” said Scott LaFleur, Executive Director of Sherman Library & Gardens.

Remember, the Spring Garden Art Faire is free with garden admission. Garden admission is only $5, and is always free for Members. Sherman Library & Gardens is located at 2647 E. Coast Hwy. in Corona del Mar, California. For more information, visit thesherman.org or call 949.673.2261. Don't miss this opportunity to experience the beauty and talent on display at this wonderful event!
