South Coast Plaza Favorites for Valentine’s Dining

Many South Coast Plaza restaurants will be celebrating Valentine's over a period of days. Here are some of the best offerings. You can also enjoy Valentine's weekend with Chris Botti, trumpeter extraordinaire, at Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall on February 14-15.
Celebratory chocolate and confections available at Godiva Chocolatier, See's Candies and Sugarfina. Complimentary long-stemmed roses at South Coast Plaza concierge locations Friday, February 14. 

Knife Pleat
February 13-15, from 5:30-9 p.m.
Knife Pleat will be offering chef Tony Esnault's six-course aphrodisiac tasting dinner February 13-15.  The all-inclusive menu features chilled oysters with champagne emulsion, scallop carpaccio, ricotta gnudi, vanilla-butter poached lobster, Cape Grim NY Strip with winter black truffle Bearnaise and jivara milk chocolate mousse with maca biscuits. Leatherby’s Cafe Rouge
February 14-15,  from 5-9 p.m.
Celebrate romance at Segerstrom Center for the Arts with a special three-course Valentine’s menu designed by chef Greg Stillman which includes Petrossian caviar followed by bacon-wrapped filet mignon and Patina chocolate dessert of the Valentine’s moment. Beverages additional.

Enjoy five days of Valentine’s with assorted specials available all five days:  Lobster ravioli appetizer, Raspberry Rose Martini, Red Velvet Raspberry Rose Mini Indulgence, and a Valentine’s Pairing Menu for Two  for $99 on Valentine's Eve only (February 13), consisting of two Wood-Grilled Filet & Lobster Tail entrées, a Caramelized Grilled Sea Scallops accompaniment to share and two glasses of Vanderpump Rosé. February 14, 2020, Valentine’s Dinner, 4- 9 p.m.
Chef Ross Pangilinan will serve a four-course prix-fixe Valentine’s menu with choices. Hors d’oeuvres to choose from are smoked salmon cones, beef tartare, grilled cheese or caviar. Second courses include chef’s signature soft egg ravioli or “lobster roll,” and mains are either Chilean sea bass or prime beef tenderloin.  Dessert selections are bread pudding, strawberry panna cotta or sorbet.  Additional wine pairing $30; vegetarian options available upon request.

Water Grill
February 13-16, from 5 p.m. - 11 p.m.  Valentine's menu dinner only
Celebrate Valentine’s at Water Grill with a curated three-course dinner menu with optional three-course wine pairing. Starters include jumbo lump blue crab cake, half dozen oyster sampler, crisp calamari, clam chowder with smoked bacon, jumbo shrimp cocktail, wedge or Caesar salad or king Crab California roll ($5 supplement); paired with Taittinger ‘La Francaise’ Brut, Reims, Champagne NV. Entrée selections include wild Pacific swordfish, Wild Ross Chilean sea bass, 8 oz. “Double Ranch” filet mignon, wild Eastern Sea Scallops, Wild South African lobster tails ($15 supplement), Surf & Turf ($15 supplement) and American Wagyu ribeye 12 oz. ($20 supplement); paired with Duckhorn Chardonnay 2017 or Adaptation by Plumpjack Cabernet Sauvignon 2016. Dessert choices are Key Lime pie, chocolate espresso ganache torte, caramel bread pudding or maple cheesecake; paired with Saracco Moscato d'Asti, Piedmont, Italy 2018.  
À la carte menu will also be served on February 13, 15 and 16. Valentine's Day, February 14, only three-course menu with a la carte sushi selections.
