SOCO Expands Retail Offerings With Four Design Showrooms
South Coast Collection (SOCO), Southern California’s premier design destination known for its home furnishings, culinary options, beauty, and fashion, is welcoming four new showrooms from May through July, in addition to a recently opened flower shop known for its dried arrangements and bouquets.
Along with Hadley & Ren Floral Co., which began selling floral arrangements and hosting events last fall, other highly anticipated showrooms include Coco Republic, a leading luxury furniture, design, and lifestyle brand founded in Sydney, Australia; Purple, a brand on a mission to deliver better sleep with the GelFlex® Grid technology; everyday kitchen designer Reform; and Visual Comfort, a go-to premium lighting resource.
A boutique, woman-owned business, Hadley & Ren Floral Co. was founded in 2020 by creative visionary Cynthia Tran. Offering everlasting floral design and a DIY dried floral bar, the dreamy storefront opened inside The OC Mix in November 2022. It is the first brick-and-mortar location for Tran, the principal designer who creates timeless yet trendy arrangements and bouquets from dried, preserved, and silk flowers. In addition to floral design, Hadley & Ren sells a curated selection of goods from other local small business makers. Several instructor-led workshops are also hosted each month, featuring a wide range of topics such as kombucha-making, hand-engraving, and floral arrangement.
Australian furniture retailer Coco Republic is continuing its U.S. expansion with a third location in California, opening in the former HD Buttercup space at SOCO. Known for its designs that bring to mind a world of effortless luxury, the brand offers a range of chic, discreetly-elegant furniture and stylish homewares. The showroom will also deliver award-winning interior design services from a respected team of professionals who can assist with residential homes, commercial offices, and development projects. A public grand opening celebration is planned for May 27-28, 2023, with a DJ, giveaways, refreshments, and fun activations taking place all weekend long.
Purple is on a mission to deliver deep, restorative sleep and is excited to announce the opening of its newest showroom at SOCO. Staffed with Sleep Geniuses ready to help shoppers find their perfect sleep solution, Purple’s showroom is a relaxing environment to come and experience the brand’s proprietary GelFlex® Grid technology that is engineered to alleviate aches and balance temperature for better nights and days. Come celebrate Purple’s grand opening on May 18 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., featuring light bites and bed-based morning yoga routines with Nora Harris.
Offering a modern perspective on kitchens, Reform specializes in creating design-driven spaces at reasonable price points. It is known for collaborating with internationally acclaimed contemporary designers and architects to create eye-catching kitchen designs along with high-quality cabinets and drawers. The Copenhagen-based and B Corp-certified brand opens its newest stateside location at SOCO this June. The inviting showroom will provide an in-person space to explore a curated selection of kitchen collections and sample materials, as well as offer opportunities to meet with experienced design consultants who can bring drawings and ideas to life.
A premier resource for designer and architectural lighting, Visual Comfort & Co. offers premium lighting across all categories, styles, and price points. Opening this Summer, the new Costa Mesa location is equipped with a state-of-the-art Architectural Lighting Lab with options in downlighting, cove lighting, and other layers of light. The lab allows customers to experience architectural lighting in real life applications and provides tools that aid in the design and decision-making.
These five new additions join a list of nearly 70 highly sought-after restaurants, boutiques, and showrooms at SOCO and The OC Mix, including the Michelin-starred Taco María and the largest Design Within Reach showroom in the world.
