Seventh Heaven for Jean Lovers

November 30, 2009

We don’t have the time (or energy) to argue our case, but as memory has it, didn’t LA-based 7 for all Mankind launch the premium denim craze? Thanks to its famous fit, 7 For All Mankind is still at the forefront of high-end denim lines. And now OC has its first 7 For All Mankind boutique at Fashion Island. The store features perfect-fitting denim and sportswear for men, women even kids, as well as handbag, footwear and eyewear collections.

The new women’s Holiday/Resort collection features the vintage art deco glamour, feminine silhouettes, and embellishments. Denim washes, textured fabrics, key prints and edgy details give the collection a fresh spirit. For men, the Holiday / Resort 2009 collection is inspired by utilitarian influences reminiscent of miners’ work wear with modern fabrics, hand-stitching accents and silhouettes. Well-crafted, functional garments come in refined wool, cashmere blends, and cotton-based nautical fabrics.7 For All Mankind is near the Iris Fountain at Fashion Island in Newport Beach. Open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Friday; 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday; 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday 949.640.0138.

New Vietnamese-fusion restaurant opens in OC

One of the most exciting events of the week for everyone who loves food and fashion is the much-anticipated unveiling party of AnQi at Bloomingdale’s South Coast Plaza this Thursday. (If the incredible invitation, the most talked about invite of the year, is any indication of what’s in store for guests, AnQi is going to be a huge hit in OC.) The new concept restaurant from the House of An (of Crustacean in Beverly Hills and San Francisco fame) will feature the family’s signature Vietnamese-fusion cuisine in a stylish gourmet bistro setting. AnQi combines the best in food and fashion, from Executive chef Helene An’s celebrated dishes ignited with healthy herbs and spices, to the runway inside the dining room for Bloomingdale’s fashion shows and special events. AnQi is officially opening Thursday, Dec. 10 at Bloomingdale’s South Coast Plaza. 3333 Bristol St. in Costa Mesa. 714.557.5679.
