The Spirits Event Of The Year
Spirits enthusiasts can look forward to Proof-- A Whiskey Social presented by Hi-Time Wine Cellars & Westside Museum featuring over 220 different whiskeys, bourbons and ryes from around the world at Westside Museum in Costa Mesa on Saturday, June 2 from 2-5 p.m.
Attendees can indulge in a wide array of whiskeys from the United States, Scotland, Ireland, India, and Japan, along with fine cheeses & charcuterie and tray passed appetizers from Westside Museum while interacting with distillers & mixologists, enjoying games and live musical performances.
The world of brown spirits in general, and whiskeys, in particular, is one of the hottest segments in the market. The USA has had a love affair with Scotch for many decades and our national whiskey, Bourbon, has fully come into its own over the past five years—people cannot get enough of it. Ireland is building many new distilleries to try and satiate demand while Japan is in the same boat—they are running out of stock because the world wants more whiskey!
The list of whiskies that will be poured is still growing-- it includes: Akashi, Amrut, Basil Hayden, Beam Suntory, BenRiach, Benromach, Black Skimmer, Bladnoch, Blood Oath, Breckenridge, Bruichladdich, Buffalo Trace, Buggy Whip, Burning Chair, Burnside, Cedar Ridge, Compass Box, The Dalmore, David Nicholson, Devils Share, Dry Fly, Eagle Rare, Elijah Craig, Evan Williams, The Exceptional Whisky, Ezra Brooks, Featherbone, Few, Four Roses, Fukano, Glencadam, GlenDronach, Glenglassaugh, Gordon & MacPhail, Heaven’s Door, Hibiki, Highland, High West, Isle of Arran, James E Pepper, Jefferson’s, Jura, Knappogue, Knob Creek, Kurayoshi, Lagavulin, Last Feather, Macallan, Maker’s Mark, Malahat, MARS, Nooku, Oban, Old Elk, Rabbit Hole, Rebel Yell, Redneck Riviera, Sazerac, Shackelton, Silver Cross, Stolen, Uncle Nearest, Westland, Widow Jane and Yellowstone Select.
The whiskeys being poured that day will be available for purchase at about a 10% discount off regular retail prices to be picked up at Hi-Time Wine Cellars at a later date (note: some whiskeys tasted may not be available for purchase due to extremely limited availability).
A portion of the proceeds from the evening will benefit Surfrider Foundation and their dedication to the protection and enjoyment of the world’s ocean, waves, and beaches through a powerful activist network.
General Admission is $100 and allows admission from 2-5 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at Hi-Time Wine Cellars or online at hitimewine.net/proof
The Westside Museum is located at 729 Farad St. in Costa Mesa.
