Pop-Up Roller Skate Venue to Open at 2ND & PCH

September 17, 2021

Pigeon’s Roller Rink, a pop-up experience will open at 2nd and PCH in Long Beach on Saturday, September 18th. The roller skate venue will offer excitement on eight wheels for all ages with a variety of reservation-based open skate sessions, classes, and private parties.

Like most action sports, roller skating’s popularity rose dramatically during the pandemic. However, the years preceding this new-wave skating boom were not as kind to the sport and several venue closures left Los Angeles county with only one full-time rink. Now, roller skating is back with more skaters in Southern California than there have been in decades and public demand for a true private venue for roller skaters is greater than any time since the 1970s,.

The range of classes available at Pigeon’s Roller Rink includes skate fitness, roller derby, beginner skate lessons, roller skate dance and choreography, artistic skating, and a kids club. A pop-up retail unit with select skates, accessories and merchandise available for purchase in addition to equipment for skate repairs.
