OC Music Kicks-Off Tonight!

January 03, 2012

Each year, the talent involved in the two-month OC Music Awards Showcase Series blows us away. It’s the best way to experience local musicians performing folk music, blues, jazz, alternative, electronica, acoustic, metal, pop, hip hop, Latin, surf, rock, punk and DJ spinning.

And tonight, we’re thrilled that the 2012 OC Music Awards Showcase Series kicks off at the Detroit Bar in Costa Mesa. The line-up competing for Best Live Band starts at 8 p.m. with Jeremiah Red; at 8:45 p.m. Paulie Pesh; 9:30 p.m. the Gromble; 10:15 p.m. Strange Birds; and 11 p.m. James Fletcher.

For the next seven weeks free showcases will continue at different venues throughout Orange County. The culmination of the series will end on March 3, at the premiere music event, the 2012 OC Music Awards at City National Grove of Anaheim. The 11th annual OC Music Awards shines the spotlight on local talent and gives the OC music scene a chance to flourish.

Doors open at the Detroit Bar at 7:30 p.m. through midnight. Must be 21 to attend. 843 West 19th St. in Costa Mesa. 949.642.0600.
