End of Summer Bash

Say goodbye to summer tonight at an End of Summer Waterfront Bash to benefit Orangewood Children’s Foundation and Octopus Children’s Foundation from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort, Celebrity guests include CariDee English "Winner of America's Next Top Model", cast of The Secret of the American Teenager and actor Ben Vereen. The festive evening includes a live DJ, silent auction, raffle prizes including travel and entertainment tickets, casino gaming (blackjack, roulette and craps), hosted gourmet coffee station, hors d'oeuvres and hosted cocktail.

Tickets cost $75 for VIP admission that includes an open bar, celebrity meet and greet, and more; or $40 admission which includes hors d’ouevres and cuisine, one drink ticket, casino chips and one raffle ticket. Tickets are available here.

Surf City Surf Dog!

Surf City Surf Dog The 3rd annual Surf City Surf Dog competition weekend will kick off at 6 p.m. Friday with a Doggie Couture Fashion Show at the pet-friendly Shorebreak Hotel in Huntington Beach.

On Saturday, from noon to 4 p.m. stop by the Hot Diggity Dog Expo and check out the PAWabunga Canine Costume and Owner Look-a-Like contests at the Strand; and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, the Surf City Surf Dog contest will take place at the Huntington Dog Beach. The entry fee for the surf competition is $45 ($10 will go to the charity picked by the contestant from among these nonprofits: Southern California Bulldog Rescue, Surf Dog Ricochet, OC Humane Society, Westie Rescue of Orange County & Beyond, and Huntington Dog Beach).

Attendees can also bring a donation of canned or bagged dog food and/or old used blankets or towels for rescue pets.

The special day that supports local breast health education, awareness programs, services and breast cancer research now includes a special appearance by Mehmet Oz, MD, the best selling author and two-time Daytime Emy Award winner of the Dr. Oz Show.

Dr. Oz will address the nearly 30,000 expected spectators and participants at the event during the Survivor Tribute, where more than 2,000 breast cancer survivors will be honored on race day.

Nearly $1.9 billion has been invested by Susan G. Komen for the Cure to help end breast cancer forever.

Outlaws SmokehouseYou only have until tomorrow to enter Honda Center's contest to name their brand new smoker, the centerpiece of Outlaws Smokehouse.

Outlaws Smokehouse is opening at the Honda Center on Oct. 4 as part of the arena's food and beverage makeover with BBQ favorites including brisket and kielbasa sandwiches and loaded baked potatoes.

Fans are invited to create names for the brand new smoker online until Sept. 23. A panel of judges will select the top five names and the public has a chance to pick their favorite Sept. 26 through Sept. 30. The author of the winning name will win two tickets to the Anaheim Ducks home opener on Oct. 14 and the winning name will be unveiled to the crowd. The winner will also receive a $100 concessions gift card.
