Discover Farm for Health Fresh Produce Boxes
Want locally grown fresh vegetables and fruit boxes? Discover Farm for Health, a new program with Irvine based non-profit - Solutions for Urban Agriculture.
The idea behind Farm for Health is to provide the Orange County community with freshly harvested, locally grown vegetables, fruits, and herbs. The convenient single-serving box is great for lunchtime salads and snacking at work, or complements your mid-week grocery needs for stir-frying, juicing, and smoothies at home.
Erin Sommer – a young farmer, entrepreneur, and Farm for Health program director hand picks, packages and delivers the produce boxes to south Orange County businesses. Farm for Health merges her interests of personal well-being, love for community and care for our earth, together as one. Knowing your farmer gives you insight into the seasons, the land and your food.
If you are interested in a Farm for Health produce box, you can contact Erin by email esommer@sfua.org or cell 805.710.3434. In addition, Farm for Health produce boxes are available at the Great Park Farmers Market every Sunday from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Farm for Health also partnered with the Center For New Medicine and delivers to their patients – in the hope that strong food will help strengthen those fighting cancer.
