Chef Bill Bracken Combating Food Insecurity in OC

July 13, 2017

There are chefs who lend their culinary talents at charity events to raise funds for important causes, but until Chef Bill Bracken came along and started Bracken’s Kitchen in 2013, there hasn’t been a chef primarily feeding the homeless high quality gourmet meals always made from scratch---no canned foods, frozen foods, always fresh--using an innovative rescued food program.

Bracken, formerly an award-winning chef at the Four Seasons in Dallas, The Peninsula Beverly Hills, and The Island Hotel Newport Beach, as well as at the DivBar Smokehouse in Newport Beach, left a career in luxury hotels and restaurants to pioneer a new approach to combating both the issues of food insecurity and the larger issues of poverty in Southern California.

We wanted to know more about his cause, inspiration and mission. You can find out more about Chef Bill Bracken in our Q&A and help this important cause at BrackensKitchen.com.
