A Luau and Pig Roast for the Duke!
One of our favorite new bars and eateries in Costa Mesa, the Wild Goose Tavern is making a new tradition on Sunday, a pig roast for a great cause—curing and treating cancer. Join the first annual Luau & Pig Roast from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday at the Wild Goose, 50% of all event sales will go to the Newport Beach-based John Wayne Cancer Foundation.
The festive Aloha-themed event will feature a large outdoor beer garden and pig roast prepared by Chef Dave Burg. Enjoy multiple beers on tap, and a dedicated cocktail bar with tropical drinks using freshly squeezed juices and muddled fruits such as the “Wild on the Riviera” featured cocktail.
Members of the John Wayne Cancer Foundation will also be on hand with the sale of foundation merchandise including “Wild Goose” t-shirts (the name of the legendary actor’s yacht), of which 100% of the proceeds fund the charity.
“We’re looking forward to an incredibly fun event and pleased to know that the money raised will directly support the fight against cancer through the formidable work of the John Wayne Cancer Foundation,” said Mario Marovic, Wild Goose co-owner. “I’ve always been a huge fan of The Duke and we’re simply grateful to be in a position to host a charity in his honor that may help efforts to combat this terrible and deadly disease.”
