Joon Shabu Shabu, a popular Japanese-style hotpot restaurant from L.A., just opened its first Orange County location at the District in Tustin. Joon Shabu Shabu makes all of its own dipping sauces in-house, including its popular Tokyo Hot Sauce. You can choose from up to five specialty dipping sauces, including a whipped garlic and citrus sauce, and a sweet and savory umami sauce – going beyond the typical repertoire of ponzu and sesame sauces available elsewhere. Late last year, Tim Goodell, a local award-winning chef---who you may remember from Aubergine, Troquet, Red Pearl Kitchen, 25 Degrees and the Whist at the Viceroy to name just a few---opened Royal Hen, in the former Amelia's location on Balboa Island.
