Join artist/designer, Paul Frank, creator of world-renowned Julius the monkey, for this special backpack workshop at Orange Coast College Community Education on Saturday, Oct. 5 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Each guest will have the opportunity to work with Paul in creating a one-of-a-kind fashion backpack, featuring a selection of colorful materials and trims. Families and parent/child encouraged to attend as registered participants in this interactive, fun seminar. Geared for ages 10 and up. Child fee is $179 includes $40 backpack material fee. Laguna Dance Festival celebrates its 15th season

For its 15th season, the Laguna Dance Festival will present a trio of performances Sept. 27–29: Parsons Dance Company from New York City, RUBBERBAND from Montreal, and Ballet West from Salt Lake City, hosted by the 750-seat Irvine Barclay Theatre. Parsons Dance is a contemporary company, internationally renowned for its energized, athletic ensemble work. The Newport Beach Arts Foundation 16th Annual Art in the Park on Saturday, September 28, at the Newport Beach Civic Center features 125 Southern California artists displaying and selling their work in all media including painting, ceramics, photography, textiles, jewelry, glass, wood and more.
