Mimi Ngo is a southern California native who is a junior at California State University, Long Beach as an English rhetoric and composition major. Mimi is also a professional makeup artist who is always in the know with the latest beauty trends of the season. She finds most of her makeup inspiration through runway looks featured at fashion week and likes finding ways to transform editorial trends to everyday wearable looks. Food Pantry Friday

One of our favorite local nonprofits, Project Hope Alliance, is dedicated to ending homelessness in Orange County through an innovative rapid rehousing program. Part of their mission also includes PHA’s Food Pantry, which provides non-perishable essentials and personal hygiene items for the many of the families they serve. We’re incorporating a Food Pantry Friday element to announce what is needed most at PHA’s Food Pantry. Right now they are in need of natural snack items — healthy granola bars, natural fruit snacks, etc.  You can learn more about PHA and their Food Pantry here.

Huntington Downtown A Fun and Festive Week

It’s a busy and fun week in Huntington Beach Downtown. Starting with the HB Downtown Art Walk on Thursday, June 18 from 6 to 9 p.m. You can come out and check out artists located in locations throughout the downtown--from Orange St., down Main St., and all the way to The Strand. The New Giant Wheel: Dazzling and Energy Efficient

Irvine Spectrum Center’s 108-foot Giant Wheel, a spectacle as it was, is now more spectacular and energy efficient. The Giant Wheel’s 12,500 standard bulbs were just replaced with more than 52,000 energy-efficient LED lights that can illuminate the center with 16 million different color schemes. The new Giant Wheel will also be a showstopper during the holidays and special events, as it features an LED face of vibrant hues and an array of designs.
