Team Duke Meets Team Laura at OC Marathon
At this Sunday’s OC Marathon (as well as OC Half Marathon, Wahoo’s OC 5k and Kids Run the OC) it’s not too late to run/walk and raise funds for your favorite charity for the OC Marathon’s Charity Partner’s listed here.
One of the local charities, John Wayne Cancer Foundation has attracted Oats Cashmere designer and owner Debra Hayburn to spearhead Team Laura that raised more than $20,000 at Team Laura for 50K Wahoo’s in El Moro event last year for the John Wayne Cancer Foundation.
This year, Team Laura has a goal of 100 team runners with a fundraising goal of $1,000 per runner. Runners will be outfitted in Lululemon running gear and when the fundraising goal of $1,000 is met, runner’s race entries will be reimbursed. Team Laura sponsors include Mercedes-Benz Laguna Niguel
($10 donation to every runner) and Lululemon South Coast Plaza (runners outfits, gift bags and volunteers).
Want to donate to Team Laura? You can online here.
If you’d like to find out more how you can get involved, become a member of the John Wayne Cancer Foundation training program through Cal Coast

It doesn’t matter if you’re a runner or a walker. It doesn’t matter if you’ve never done anything like this before. You’ve just got to have what
John Wayne had- grit. When you hit that pavement for the first time, you won’t be alone. You’ll be with John Wayne and fighting cancer at the same time.
