Steel Magnolias’ Virtual Boozy Bingo

July 20, 2020

Steel Magnolias, the all-volunteer Long Beach-based organization whose main recipient is the Stramski Children’s Developmental Center at Millers Children’s and Women’s Hospital, is hosting its first-ever Boozy Bingo series on Tuesday, July 22 and August 25 from 5:30-7 p.m.  The cost is $40 per person or $75 per couple per event and includes a cocktail box featuring cocktail mixers, airline-size bottles of alcohol, bingo cards and chips.  To register, email Sue DeRosa at lom.suederosa@gmail.com.

The Wine Country, Long Beach’s premier wine and spirits store, helped secure the mixers and airline-size bottles.  After players register for Boozy Bingo, they have the option of picking up their cocktail box at The Wine Country or having it delivered by a Steel Magnolia volunteer to their doorstep.

Bingo Boozy begins with a quick mixology lesson. The July event will feature a tutorial on how to make a Cosmopolitan with August’s event showcasing the classic Martini.  All the ingredients, sans ice, are included in the cocktail kit with a non-alcoholic option available.  Following the mixology lesson are three different bingo games.  To comply with the California Sweepstakes Laws, no prizes are awarded, but all proceeds go to the Stramski Children’s Developmental Center.

Boozy Bingo will take place virtually on July 22 and August 23 at 5:30 p.m.  The $40 participation fee ($75 per couple) includes a cocktail kit plus bingo cards and chips.  To register for one or both dates, email lom.suederosa@gmail.com or call 562.331.8007.  Checks and credit cards accepted.
