Riding the Carousel!

September 27, 2011

We're not sure the last time Greer Wylder rode the carousel at South Coast Plaza, but today at 5:30 she will be saddling up with other OC residents to fundraise for their favorite children''s charity as part of the Festival of Children.

Armed only with their cell phones, riders will be asked to call their friends and contacts to collect donations for Blind Children’s Learning Center in Santa Ana, Boys Hope Girls Hope in Costa Mesa, Discovery Arts in Orange, Friends of Santa Ana Zoo in Santa Ana, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) in Irvine, MOMS Orange County in Santa Ana, Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation in Irvine, Speech and Language Development in Buena Park, THINK Together in Santa Ana and Waldorf School in Costa Mesa.

Greer and the other participants will not be allowed off the carousel until they've raised at least $500 dollars each and 100% of the funds raised will go directly to the children's charities.  Greer will be raising money for her favorite non-profit, JDRF, which funds research for a cure to type 1 diabetes and its complications.

Stop by the carousel to support the riders, take in the spectacleh and celebrate with the first and last riders to achieve their fundraising goal this evening.
