Even if the pop-up restaurant craze is a fleeting fad, much like trendy fro-yo shops were several years ago, it doesn’t matter. Your palate still wins. Local chefs are giving you their complete attention in a short amount of time, and they’re out to make the culinary experience as memorable as possible.

You’re in for sustainable sublime feast at Thursday’s Positive Pop-Up at Haute Cakes Caffe in Newport Beach, when Chef Rich Mead from Sage Restaurant collaborates with Mark Cleveland and Tanya Fuqua from Avanti Cafe for a five-course dinner focusing on sustainable, local, and delicious cuisine. Cost is $35 per person, and you can even opt for wine pairings too for an additional $15. All proceeds will benefit Ecoffociency.Org's The Positive Plate and Project Haiti. Highlights from the menu include an appetizer of Avanti cranberry walnut bread with garlic shallot Asian and red mustard greens with Avanti house made organic ricotta and Provencal spices; and grilled local farms raised lamb, pureed roast carrots, roast broccoli, Weiser farms pee wee potatoes and cipollini onions, braised greens, and red wine lamb jus or baby spring vegetable brown rice medley risotto with sugar snaps, tat soi and green onions garnished with organic carrot puree, broccoli and roasted baby artichokes.
