Modern Day Makers at MAKE in Anaheim
The newest addition to the Anaheim Packing District culinary trinity is MAKE, a 100-year old building that was once a marmalade factory and today it houses modern-day makers: Unsung Brewing Co, Pali Wine Company, and soon-to-come Stone Groove Stillhouse and Jav’s BBQ.
It’s adjacent to the Packing House (an incredible food hall) and the Packard Building (home to the Anaheim Brewery and Umami Burger).
Late last year, Unsung Brewing Co. opened their doors at the MAKE building, offering award-winning craft beers in a space filled with fictitious superhero décor. Pali Wine Company is the latest to join the MAKE mix. Founded in 2005, Pali Wine Co. produces hand-crafted, premium Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in its winery, located in Lompoc - Santa Barbara County. Pali Wine Co. operates several other tasting rooms in downtown Santa Barbara, San Diego and Lompoc; however, the MAKE building proudly features the sole production facility within the tasting room. Customers in Anaheim will be able to sip wine amidst the production equipment and wine barrels, enjoying maker education alongside libations.
“We are very excited about the Tap Program here at our tasting room,” said Pali Wine Co. Winemaker, Aaron Walker. “The wines being served on tap are hand selected by our winemaking team and owners, and will rotate on a regular basis. The Tap program gives us the opportunity to offer wines that we otherwise would not be able to share. The kegs are filled directly from barrels at our winery. There is no fining or filtering involved - and only minimal SO2 additions. This results in wines that are younger and fresher.”
Later this year, Jav’s BBQ will be opening their first brick & mortar location at MAKE. Guests will be able to enjoy Jav's Texas-sized, mouth-watering backyard barbecue.
The MAKE Building is just south of the Anaheim Packing House, at 500 S. Anaheim Boulevard, Anaheim. 714.533.7225.
