Celebration of Global Friendships Masquerade Ball

August 31, 2019

An elegant evening, Celebration of Global Friendships Masquerade Ball, will commemorate the Plasticos 20th anniversary and honor three special humanitarians, Drs. Philippe and Isabelle Schaison and Rachel Russell on Saturday, Sept. 14, at the Balboa Bay Resort in Newport Beach.

The public is invited to join in the festivities at this annual event that will raise critical funds to support the mission of Plasticos, a humanitarian nonprofit providing reconstructive plastic surgery to those in need, both globally and domestically, while generating sustainable outcomes through training, education and research.

For two decades, Plasticos has been at the forefront of creating lasting outcomes in under-resourced countries around the world. Through dedicated teams of medical volunteers, including surgeons, anesthesiologists and nurses, Plasticos not only performs surgeries on its overseas missions but, through teaching, ensures that local medical teams learn how to perform the same complex reconstructive surgeries. Patients typically require surgery to correct traumatic injuries, disfigurement as a result of cancer or congenital deformities.

At the gold and black-themed masquerade ball, where guests are encouraged to dress in black tie wearing elegant masks, Philippe Schaison, Ph.D. and Isabelle Schaison, PhD., will be recognized for their invaluable volunteer roles with Plasticos.

At the Celebration of Global Friendships, guests will enjoy a hosted cocktail reception with a silent auction, gourmet dinner, entertainment by the dance band N’Demand, a live auction with vacation packages, award presentations and a video retrospective of Plasticos.
