Newport Beach’s Only Craft Brewery Opens

Helmsman Ale House, a 15-barrel brewhouse, complete with a full-service family-friendly restaurant just opened in the Cannery Village on the Balboa peninsula. The concept is the newest venture by restaurateurs Mario Marovic and Andrew Gabriel who have produced 13 other venues throughout Orange County, including Playa Mesa,  The Country Club, and Wild Goose Tavern, Dory Deli and award-winning Matador Cantina & Cocina, among others. Helmsman Ale House pours upwards of 12 unique, small-batch beers at a time with four 14-barrel fermentation tanks, five 15-barrel and three 5-barrel brite tanks.
