OC Weekend: Farm to Food Truck Challenge

The first Farm-to-Food Truck Challenge kicks off Saturday during the SoCo Certified Farmers Market in Costa Mesa from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The foodie event will feature more than 20 gourmet food trucks in a Food Network TV Show “Chopped” style competition. Each food truck must use ingredients from the farmers market, plus a protein of their choice. Competitors have one hour to gather ingredients and then whip up a culinary masterpiece. Budding fashionistas can take part in a summer camp that caters to kids as young as eight up to college age students who are interested in following their fashion dreams. Fashion Camp OC is currently offered at the OC Mart Mix in Costa Mesa, giving young fashionistas the knowledge and tools needed to tap into their creativity, learn about design and style as well as taking part in a Project Runway-type competition.
