In celebration of National Food Day today, Avanti Cafe in Costa Mesa is offering a special menu from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. using all California grown ingredients and produce from two spectacular organic farms, South Coast Farms in San Juan Capistrano and Unity Farms in Riverside. The meal is only $9. The menu starts with baked organic brown rice and herb croquette, roasted and steamed organic vegetables with fresh herb and garlic pesto. We were fortunate enough to attend the last cooking demo at True Food Kitchen in Newport Beach with health expert Dr. Andrew Weil and Chef Michael Stebner, co-creators of the menus at True Food Kitchen.
