New Culinary Collective in OC

East 17th Street in Costa Mesa, is raising the bar as a farm to fresh foodie destination. Ever since, our favorite Avanti Café opened in 2005, (reviewed here in my “Best Bites” column in the Daily Pilot) it has inspired other like minded organic eateries and stores to move in. Now we have, Sprouts Farmers Market, Greenleaf, and the new Anais+Raya Culinary Collective that just opened at Picnics Kitchen on E.17th Street. Join us at one of Orange County’s premiere events of the summer, OC Look, at a gorgeous residence in Ritz Cove in Dana Point on Thursday, July 26 at 6 p.m. The annual soiree hosted by Orange Coast Magazine raises much needed funds ways to prevent, treat, and find a cure for type 1 diabetes, through the Dream Guild of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. The Grand Del Mar in San Diego kicks off “Summer Concerts At The Grand” on Sunday at 7 p.m. with Hiroshima, an LA based fusion jazz ensemble. We want to see an end to Cystic Fibrosis soon for all who suffer from this deadly inherited disease, but also for our close friend’s niece and my son’s college roommate.
