Johnny’s Real New York Pizza just opened its third location in Orange County at Quail Hill Shopping Center in Irvine. Its other two pizzerias are in Newport Beach at Bison Avenue, and in Corona del Mar on the Coast Highway. Palo Alto based Lyfe Kitchen just opened its first OC outpost at Irvine Spectrum Center, near Dave & Busters and Panda Express. The concept is all about great-tasting food that’s affordable, convenient, and if that’s not enough, it offers sustainable and local ingredients, as well as 100% grass-fed steaks, antibiotic and hormone free meat and poultry and dishes, and as many organic ingredients as possible. Costa Mesa’s west side is landing some great destination eateries. Social just opened on West 19th Street, and it’s already one of our favorite restaurants in Orange County, and now the Boathouse Collective, a former event space and long before that wooden-hulled ships were constructed here on Pomona Avenue, just opened as a place for dining, art shows, music performances and special events.
