Celebrate the maritime heritage of Newport Harbor and wooden boats past and present during the 3rd Annual Balboa Yacht Club Wooden Boat Festival on Saturday, June 4 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Seasoned boaters and novices can enjoy a day filled with maritime craftsmanship, art, exhibits, delicious food and drink, and lively music. Just in time for the summer season, Kaleidoscope in Mission Viejo is opening three new restaurants; Union Market Mission Viejo is celebrating its first restaurant opening this weekend, and the entire center’s renovations are completed. The much-anticipated Anchor Hitch, a contemporary seafood restaurant, is celebrating its grand opening on Saturday, June 4. It’s been a banner summer already for Alicia Whitney and the team behind SeaLegs Wine Bar and the new SeaSalt Woodfire Grill in Huntington Beach. Whitney and her team have enacted a long-term partnership with California State Parks at Bolsa Chica State Beach, including a long-term lease to operate four concession restaurants at the three-mile long Bolsa Chica State Beach. Now in its fifth year celebrating great food and drinks in Orange County, the Golden Foodie Awards kicks off the season with its Golden Chef Series continuing on Saturday, June 4 at 2 p.m. at the Irvine Spectrum.
