Beloved Chef Pascal Olhats Closing His Namesake Restaurant

I’m sad to announce beloved chef Pascal Olhats will be closing his incredible restaurant, Pascal in San Juan Capistrano on March 30. He’s decided to slow down the business while he deals with ongoing health issues. The great news is that he’s not retiring and will be fully involved at Café Jardin at Sherman Library & Gardens. “Once Pascal closes, I am planning to serve some of Pascal’s favorite dishes on the lunch menu there, as well as having special dinners. Sidecar Doughnuts & Coffee kicks off their 2019 Chef Series. Each month a celebrated chef will be invited into the Sidecar kitchen to create their signature Sidecar doughnut. The series will include James Beard Award winners and nominees, StarChef Rising Star Award recipients, and the chef behind one of Food & Wine Magazine’s 2018 Restaurants of the Year. PGA Tour Legends Tee Off at Inaugural Hoag Classic

The Hoag Classic, Orange County’s only official PGA TOUR Champions event, premieres from March 6 to 10. Golf legends will be competing for the $1.8 million purse at the Newport Beach Country Club. As one of the most successful philanthropic events on the PGA TOUR Champions, the tournament has generated more than $20 million in its history. This year, newly minted as the Hoag Classic, the tournament’s net proceeds will benefit Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian’s programs and services, as well as other local charities.
