On Saturday, May 13 you can help support the Blind Children’s Learning Center that offers individualized critical services for children with visual impairments by walking in the 13th Annual Destination Independence 5K Walk in Santa Ana. The walk welcomes Dr. Ashish Mehta, Pediatric Ophthalmologist at Southern California Permanente Medical Group and Dr. Ehsan Sadri, Ophthalmologist at Atlantis Eyecare as Honorary Co-Chairs. The Anaheim Ducks have a good luck tradition. They go to True Food Kitchen Newport Beach and order a custom “good luck dish” before all home games. Household Items needed at Illumination Foundation

Illumination Foundation, an Orange County nonprofit breaking the cycle of homelessness, housed over 160 individuals, including 63 households and 75 children in the first few months of 2017. Before moving the families and individuals into their new homes, the nonprofit helps them furnish the apartments to make the place feel like a real home. Now, there are more individuals and families on the waitlist for permanent housing, but it is in dire need of new and gently-used furniture and household items to furnish the permanent homes of individuals and families experiencing homelessness.
