On Thursday, Oct. 12, restaurants all over Orange County will be participating in Susan G. Komen Orange County’s Dine Out for the Cure. Taking place during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Dine Out is sure to be delicious way to make a difference. For every dollar guests spend, anywhere from 10-25% of the restaurant’s profits for the day will go to Komen Orange County. SHEPARD FAIREY’S MURAL In Costa Mesa

World-renowned street artist Shepard Fairey just completed the largest mural of its kind in Orange County on the west and south-facing walls of the new Baker Block development in Costa Mesa. It’s visible from the 55 freeway. The mural, named “Welcome Home,” covers nearly 8,000 square feet and is a reflection of Baker Block’s commitment to both Costa Mesa’s artistic community and surf-skate culture. For the first time, John Varvatos took his NYC Fashion Week show to the West Coast on Saturday, October 7 at South Coast Plaza. John Varvatos presented his “Wild at Heart” Fall/Winter collection in a tented pavilion, followed by an after party with live bands, DJ's, a hosted bar and passed hors d'oeuvres. Proceeds benefitted the Anaheim Ducks Foundation/Lady Ducks and Children’s Hospital of Orange County.
