Crow Bar Goes Green!

Congratulations to the Crow Bar & Kitchen in Corona del Mar for taking a green initiative. The Green Restaurant Assn. just certified Crow Bar, an upscale gastropub, as the first “green restaurant” in Orange County. Not only does the Crow Bar boast a James Beard award-winning Executive Chef John Cuevas (formerly with the Montage Hotel & Resort in Laguna Beach), but it uses local and sustainable ingredients in its inventive pub foods. Other markers for making this certification include the banning of Styrofoam, to-go packages are biodegradeable and made from recycled materials, and its Natura water system is environmentally friendly.…

Weekend: Fave Foodie Week in OC!

Foodies will love the return of Orange County Restaurant Week that’s launching Sunday through Saturday, March 5.  To keep it even more special, they capped off the restaurants this year to 100. Prix fixed menus will be set at $10, $15 and $20 per person for lunch, and $20, $30 or $40 per person for dinner. You can search for your favorite restaurant by city, and see the entire list here. Classic Opera Meets Rock!

For one night only, classic opera will meet rock! Opera superstar Renée Fleming is giving Orange County an exclusive experience of covering indie rock songs on Tuesday, April 5 at 8 p.m. at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts. By the way, we loved Fleming's rock-tinged album, “Dark Hope.” She will be performing classical opera selections in the first half of her performance, and the second half will solely be rock.
