Local restaurateur Russ Bendel is opening his third highly anticipated wine country-themed dining establishment in Orange County, with Olea in Newport Beach on Thursday, Nov. 30.   Named for a genus of trees that grow in warm and tropical regions, Olea joins Bendel’s award-winning Napa and Sonoma wine country concepts at Vine, in San Clemente, and Ironwood, in Laguna Hills, a European accent with extensive wine selections from Italy, France, and Spain. Acclaimed Top Chef All-Stars winner Richard Blais and business partner Mike Rosen just expanded their cult-favorite San Diego based The Crack Shack in Orange County. The new Crack Shack took over the former Chase Bank site on the corner of East 17th Street and Orange Avenue in Costa Mesa. Orange County’s largest outdoor ice skating rink can be found at The District at Tustin Legacy this holiday season. The 5,000-square-foot ice rink opened today! Guests can enjoy the 50-foot by 100-foot rink through Monday, Jan. 15, 2018. Skate sessions are 90 minutes. Prices are $19 for adults and children, including brand new skate rentals and $16 if you bring your skates. For toddlers, the price is $16, including skate rental (sizes 8T to 12T only).
