On Saturday, the Assistance League of Newport-Mesa’s sixth annual fundraising gala, "Dancing for Tomorrow's Stars,” will be celebrated at the Grove of Anaheim. This elegant evening of dinner and dancing pairs community leaders with professional ballroom dancers just like the TV show, and celebrates Newport-Mesa's 73 years of philanthropic services to children in the community. Free Bagels for Blood Drive

Family owned Bagels & Brew will be hosting an American Red Cross Blood Drive on Wednesday from 1 to 7 p.m. at its Aliso Viejo location. Each donor will receive a dozen free bagels with a blood donation. A Red Cross bus will be parked outside the Bagels & Brew at Aliso Viejo Town Center.
