The Martial Artists and Acrobats of Tianjin Debut at Segerstrom Center

One of China’s most acclaimed acrobatic troupes, The Martial Artists and Acrobats of Tianjin Debut at Segerstrom Center  are coming to Segerstrom Center for the Arts for the first time on Saturday, Sept. 30 at 2 and 8 p.m. For their Center debut, the award-winning company of more than 100 martial artists and acrobats will perform the stunning new production: China Soul. GEN SILENT”: DOCUMENTARY SHEDDING LIGHT ON DISCRIMINATION FACED BY LGBT SENIORS

Alzheimer’s Association collaborated with Laguna Beach Seniors to screen “Gen Silent”, the critically acclaimed documentary by award-winning filmmaker Stu Maddux, follows the stories of six lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender seniors as they age in a healthcare system that can at times be hostile. A free screening of the film will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 27 at The Susi Q Senior Center in Laguna Beach. Daniel Patterson celebrates The Art of Flavor at Taco María

On Saturday, Sept. 23, Taco María welcomes one of chef/owner Carlos Salgado’s greatest mentors, Daniel Patterson, for his first guest chef event in Orange County. Salgado and Patterson will collaborate on a five-course menu inspired by Daniel Patterson’s newly released The Art of Flavor (a cooking primer co-authored with perfumer Mandy Aftel) and the chefs’ time together at Coi.
