As a mom of four boys, I definitely want to see the screening of a controversial new documentary, “Race to Nowhere: The Dark Side of America’s Achievement Culture” this Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Studio at Sage Hill. “Race to Nowhere” chronicles the pressures American schoolchildren and their teachers face in our achievement-obsessed education system and culture. The film has generated tremendous buzz through screenings at public and private schools across the US. You read this here first (or most likely the LA Weekly) and this is BIG news: Nancy Silverton, Mario Batali and Joe Bastianich are opening a Pizzeria Mozza in Newport Beach. This is thrilling news for die-hard fans of LA’s Pizzeria Mozza who think nothing of driving some 50 miles for incredible pizza; Sunday night’s superb lasagna; and out of this world white beans alla Toscana with extra virgin olive oil and saba.
