Takeda brings guests a morning of art history, fashion and culture at the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana. Free Movie Mondays kicks off this summer on Monday at Segerstrom Center with the screening of “Billy Elliot” the story about an English coal miner’s son who dreams of being a ballet dancer. On Monday, July 16, watch the classic “An American in Paris” with its famed score by George and Ira Gershwin and starring Gene Kelly and Leslie Caron. Costa Mesa residents out shopping for fireworks can support their favorite organizations by buying from fundraising stands for schools, sports and foundations through Wednesday, July 4. Here is the entire list of Costa Mesa Fireworks stands. Fireworks are sold from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. through Tuesday, and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday. They can be lit from 4 to 10 p.m. today through July 4.
