Annie at SCR!

Local students will be performing in the beloved musical “Annie” on August 10-11 and 17-18 on the Julianne Argyros Stage through the South Coast Repertory’s Summer Players. The stars of the show participate in SCR’s Kids and Teen Acting Program and were chosen by Theatre Conservatory Director Hisa Takakuwa, with music direction by Erin McNally. Coming Together to Fight Diabetes

A few weeks ago I went to the American Diabetes Association Conference in Chicago and was thankful to write about my experience here in the Daily Pilot.  Can an intense, five-day scientific conference, the American Diabetes Assn. conference in Chicago, bring hope to a worried mom of a Type 1 diabetic? Poker Tourney Benefits Students!

Support local elementary schools at a fun poker tournament fundraiser on Saturday, July 20 at the Boys & Girls Club in Costa Mesa. The annual Four Aces Tournament will benefit four schools in the Newport Beach/Costa Mesa area: Newport Height Elementary, Kaiser Woodland, Newport Elementary and Mariners Elementary. There will be food, drinks and prizes. The event is both a social gathering ($50) and a poker tournament ($150). Walk-up registration costs $175.
