Beyond Bites, Every Bite Counts

As many of you know, one of my four sons was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes 11 years ago. I try as much as I can to support efforts to end Type 1 Diabetes. It’s an invisible, yet life-threatening disease that’s hard to manage. And you have to be on it 24/7.

Now, there’s a  new organization called Beyond Type 1, founded last year founded by Nick Jonas, Juliet de Baubigny, Sarah Lucas and Sam Talbot. It’s on a mission to educate the global community about this autoimmune disease, as well as to provide resources and support for those living with Type 1. In honor of World Diabetes Day on Monday, November 14, they’re launching Beyond Bites! an opportunity for restaurants all over the world to join their mission by donating 10% of sales to Beyond Type 1.

Restaurants can register online to participate in Beyond Bites at beyondtype1.org/beyond-bites. Beyond Type 1 will make it super easy by sending a digital contract and providing resources to use in the restaurant, on social media, and in the press on World Diabetes Day to show that they are supporting a great cause. Restaurants will also be highlighted by Beyond Type 1 on their social channels and in the media.

By participating in Beyond Bites, raising awareness and supporting those in your community impacted by Type 1 diabetes, you are making a difference, too.
