THE THREE CHEFS PERFORM

Three celebrated Orange County chefs -- Pascal Olhats of Pascal, Takashi Abe of Bluefin and Richard Mead of Sage Eastbluff and Sage on the Coast -- will help students pursue a culinary education by raising funds at two upcoming charity dinners that they are hosting.

The trio will work on the dishes together during the Oct. 16 and Nov. 13 dinners, rather than each preparing a different course. Just like the Three Tenors, they will harmonize rather than perform solo.

Dinner includes cocktails, followed by individual appetizers created by each chef, then an amuse course, a seafood course, a meat or poultry course and dessert.

The cost is $125 per person, excluding tax and gratuity. Fifty percent of the proceeds will go to the Orange County chapter of the American Institute of Wine and Food for student scholarships.

Chef dinners are scheduled for Oct. 16 at Sage Eastbluff in Newport Beach; and Nov. 13 at Bluefin at Crystal Cove Promenade in Newport Coast.
