HOLIDAY WONDERLAND
You can kick-off the holiday gift buying season in style with the Christmas Company Shopping Extravaganza, which runs Sunday through next Wednesday at the Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort in Newport Beach.
The Junior League of Orange County's much-anticipated annual fundraising event features 90 merchants from across the country. Each vendor brings specialty items, some of which have been seen on "Oprah" and "The Today Show" and even items displayed at the White House.
This year’s theme, "A Holiday Hawaiian Style," offers everything from women’s and children’s apparel, holiday and home décor, books, gardening items and gourmet foods.
Women’s clothing, jewelry and accessories include lines from Purseonality, Slater and Sloane, Alma’s Designs, SoSoBella Designs, Little Black Dress, Beijo Handbags, the Cherished Accessory, Lu Ping Pearls, and d Forsythe Pearls.
Children’s items featured include Haute Stuff for Kids, Wiggity Bang Games, Dollites, Bassinets & Blueberries, and a Whale of a Tale.
Gourmet foods, dishes and cookware come from Fabulous Pewterware, A Store For Cooks, Knife Nitch, My Lemonade Stand, Cherchies Specialty Foods, and Davis Mountain Nuts. Household and garden items include Lavendar Blue, Private Quarters, and Generations Home & Garden.
Tickets costs $10 per person and includes parking. During the four-day Christmas Company run, the Junior League holds special events including fashion shows. Tickets for those events can be purchased online.
Open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday; 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday; 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday; and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday. The Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort is at 1131 Back Bay Drive in Newport Beach.
