AMERICAN RAG AND RICHES
Now fans of American Rag won’t have to drive to LA anymore. Orange County opened its first American Rag Cie store at Fashion Island in Newport Beach.
The store, a favorite of well-traveled and style savvy men and women, also houses a destination café and champagne bar. Café Beau Soliel serves organic Mediterranean foods for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
American Rag offers international up-and-coming designers, vintage apparel, and an eclectic mix of denim, footwear, accessories, fabulous French housewares, music and books.
Women designers include Alice McCall, APC, Lover, See by Chloe and Tsubi. For men, there's Griffin, Maharishi, Red Ear by Paul Smith, Rogan and YMC. Denim lines for men and women include Levi’s, Earnest Sewn, Tsubi and PRPS. And the store has great vintage pieces by Oleg Cassini, Diane Von Furstenburg, Shaheen, Pucci and more. Shoes for men and women include popular labels such as Chloe, Givenchy, Melanie Dizon, Jean Baptiste Rautureau, NDC and Paul Smith. Casual athletic shoes include Vans Vault, Adidas and John Varvatos Converse.
Thirty-foot exposed ceilings, glowing Murano lighting, and original art by Jean Cocteau adds a stylish ambience to the shopping and dining experience.
For breakfast Café Beau Soliel serves eggs, omelettes, pancakes, cereal and French toast. For lunch and dinner it offers soup, salads, croque-monsieur and sandwiches, burgers, pasta, quiche, and entrees such as Dover sole, turkey meatloaf and hanger steak with black peppercorn sauce.
