The popular gourmet hamburger restaurant famous for its make-your-own burger concept opened in Irvine at The Woodbury Town Center. (Lines run out the door at its LA restaurant.)

The Counter answers our prayers in the quest to find a modern version of a classic burger joint. It's all here: industrial decor, current music, shakes, cold beer, wines, cocktails, and unlimited burger options. And even a full bar with plenty TVs to catch a game at lunch or dinner.

You can build your own gourmet burger from an extensive list of mouth-watering ingredients. No kidding, there are 312,120 combinations. (We didn't do the math, The Counter did).

The Counter has a thing for choices: beef, turkey, chicken or veggie in different sizes, cheeses, toppings, sauces, honey wheat or regular white hamburger buns, or even get your burger served on an English muffin.

Complement your custom-made hamburger with French fries, crispy fried onion strings, sweet potato fries, chili, mixed baby green salad and more.
