SO KEAN ON COFFEE!
Happy anniversary to Kéan Coffee! For the past two years, the upscale coffeehouse in Costa Mesa treats coffee as an art form. Kéan is a java snobs' dream coffeehouse. For starters, exquisite Fortuny silk lamps in spiral and Ottoman-shield shapes hang from the ceiling, Brazilian granite surrounds the counters, and a Venetian plaster wall reveals a portion of coffee burlap bags.
But looks aren't everything. The reason that each day more than 500 customers line-up at Kéan is for its world-class coffees, many organic and fair trade, premium teas and fresh baked treats. And Kéan's baristas excel at creating artistic swirls and flower-like designs floating each latte.
Artisan coffees are hand-roasted daily on-site by OC local Martin Diedrich, a national pioneer in the coffeehouse craze.
Even if you're not a coffee connoisseur, you can appreciate Kéan. It offers fresh teas from Tao of Tea with extraordinary aromatic essences; splendid non-coffee drinks including green tea lattes, aromatic lavender steamers and malted caramel steamers. And a chocolate bar menu features with a Mayan spiced mocha, white chocolate steamer, a straight chocolate shot, and delicious kid's favorites, a Bumble Bee milk and honey steamer, and Mexican hat dance cocoa.
You can also find great things to eat. The Acai energy bowl enjoys a phenomenal cult following. It's made with Sambozan Brazilian Acai, banana, apple juice, strawberries, and hemp granola (complete omega fats). Other great choices include fresh pastries and baked goods from local Pacific Whey Bakery, freshly grilled Panini sandwiches, breakfast burritos, and more.
