Here's a rare winter treat for foodies. Chef Zov Karamardian of Zov's Bistro will create a festive and delicious Russian feast to welcome the winter holiday season Monday beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Zov’s flagship restaurant in Tustin.

"From Russia With Love," a winter winemakers' dinner, features Russian cuisine in delicious Zov style, paired with fine European wines and Russian Stolichnaya Elite Vodka.

A trio of appetizers starts the meal: caviar and potato pancakes, beef and potato piroshki and ikra-grilled eggplant with roasted red pepper. And in Russian style, the first course is served with ultra-smooth Stolichnaya Elite Vodka.

Following the appetizers, a duo of beets will arrive: golden beet, radish, goat cheese with mint vinaigrette, along with roasted red beet borscht and chive crème, paired with Schloss Wallhausen Two Princes Riesling, Germany 2006.

Guests can enjoy two entrees: smoked salmon, crispy yukon potato pancake with caper dill rémoulade paired with Michel Redde Sancerre, Loire Valley France 2005; and beef tenderloin with wild mushroom stroganoff sauce, roasted fingerling potatoes and herbed green beans paired with Chateau Picque Cailou, Bordeaux, France 2004.

And finally, dessert, a delicate strawberry and mascarpone blini with red wine, paired with Chateau Clos Jean 2003.

Zov’s Bistro, renowned for fine dining in central Orange County, has opened two new locations this year in Newport Coast and Irvine.
